A major cash injection for the Dryden Regional Health Centre.
The Ontario government is investing over $872,000 for hospital operations.
A total of $344,868 will be used to support critical upgrades and repairs through the Health Infrastructure Renewal Fund and the Community Infrastructure Renewal Fund.
The government is also providing the hospital with one-time COVID funding for the 2022-2023 fiscal year.
An investment of $283,778 will cover operating expenses for the months of April to June, and another $38,965 for the reimbursement of human resources expenses for the same time period.
The facility is also welcoming $204,600 for Pandemic Prevention and Containment costs.
The one-time funding is intended to offset a portion of ongoing pandemic-related operating expenses from July 1, 2022 to March 31, 2023.
Kenora-Rainy River MPP Greg Rickford made the announcement Monday.
He stated, “We stand shoulder-to-shoulder with our health care partners in Dryden and will continue to make targeted investments that will lead to improved health outcomes for Northerners.”
