The Dryden GM Ice Dogs are two points back with Thunder Bay only one point back.
The Ice Dogs defeated the Miners 7-3 in Cochenour Saturday night.
Kody Norberg scored his first SIJHL goal to break a 2-2 tie and the Ice Dogs never looked back.
James Hooton scored a pair of goals while Landen Stromme, Bryce Benfield, Jordan Pfoh and Ben Hackl added singles.
Brennan Blatz replied for the Miners with a pair of markers with Luke Decorby adding a single.
Dryden GM outshot Red Lake 61-37 with Zac MacDonald earning the win.

Sioux Lookout completed a series sweep against visiting Wisconsin with an 11-3 victory.
Ethan Penner picked up his first win making 30 saves.
