Two wins for the Dryden Eagles High School court teams as they held their home opener Thursday against Beaver Brae.
Strong serving from Mac Harrington and Kiera Weiers helped the Dryden Senior Girls Volleyball team beat Beaver Brae in 5 sets (15-25, 25-12, 15-25, 25-13, 15-8).
It was a thriller in Junior play as the Eagles outlasted the Broncos in 3 sets (25-12, 18-25, 26-24).
Dryden trailed the deciding set 24- 13 and Kenora only needed one more point but Claudia Trist rattled off 13 straight points off her serve to grab the 26-24 win.
The Juniors are hosting a one day tournament today. (Friday)
In Boys Basketball, the Dryden Juniors jumped out to an early lead and led by 12 at the half but went ice cold after the break.
Beaver Brae rallied to defeat the Eagles 29-18.
Dryden was led by Emmerson Moir’s 15 points.
In Seniors play, the Broncos pulled away in the second half after leading by only two at the break en route to a 53-36 victory.
Jett Livingston and Cooper Groves had 9 points each for the Eagles and Lochlain Ryan chipped in with 7.
