ELIJAH “ELI” CORNELIUS KEEASH
November 4, 1976 – November 29, 2022
Mr. Elijah “Eli” Cornelius Keeash, age 46 years, passed away peacefully in Thunder Bay Regional Health Sciences Centre on Tuesday, November 29, 2022 with his family by his side.
Eli was born on November 4, 1976 in Sioux Lookout, Ontario and was the youngest son of the family. He completed his Chef training in Sault Ste. Marie, and had a successful career cooking in restaurants and within the mining industry. He was an amazing chef and made so many delicious meals for family and friends. Eli had a wonderful sense of humour and was a true prankster, always making those around him laugh. In his teenage years, he loved baseball, serving as a batboy. More recently, he enjoyed volleyball. Eli loved his family and was very involved in the lives of his children and grandchildren. His kindness and big heart will be deeply missed by everyone.
Eli is survived by his mother, Caroline Keeash; partner, Gayle Wesley; his children Kelli Quill, Emery Wesley, Hope Wesley, Eli Jr. “Dewey” Wesley, and step-son Ethan Wesley; grandchildren Penelope, Rupert, Robert and Gregory; siblings Veronica Fobister, Dorothy Keeash , Denise Keeash (Mike), Zeb Kenequanash (Darlene) and half-siblings James Adams, Thomas Quequish, Donald Quequish, Rosalie Quequish and Bernie Quequish, step-mother Caroline Quequish, as well as his ex-spouse and friend Elaine Wesley. Numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, in-laws, cousins and friends also survive.
He was predeceased by his son and best friend Evan Wesley; father Steven Keash; step-father Maio Quequish; siblings Sam Keash and Clifford Keash, who passed away just 2 days after Eli, as well as his brother-in-law Dennis Fobister and other relatives.
A Wake Service for Eli will be held on Sunday, December 4, 2022 from 10:00am until 12:00pm in the WESTFORT CHAPEL, 420 West Gore Street at James, Thunder Bay. He will then be transported to Dryden, where a Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday, December 6, 2022 at 12:00pm in the Dryden Community Funeral Home. Interment will follow in Dryden Cemetery beside his father and brother.
