Environment Canada says total snowfall accumulations are expected to be near 15 centimeters in the Dryden area as well as along the Trans Canada Highway west past Kenora and east to Ignace and beyond.
Red Lake anticipating light snow and Sioux Lookout is under a weather advisory calling for flurries and drizzle.
At the same time, Fort Frances is now under a ‘Winter Storm’ warning with 15 to 20 cm of snow overnight, so it might be an idea to avoid travel on Hwy 502 between Dryden and Fort Frances. Atikokan and Thunder Bay are both calling for Freezing Rain
Strong wind gusts will lead to localized blowing snow and reduced visibility.
Snow is expected to begin later this morning or early this afternoon and continue until Friday morning.
The heaviest snow is expected to fall this evening into Friday morning.
Meteorologist Dave Rogers says areas south of Dryden will likely see the highest amounts.
