Another warm day in northwestern Ontario.
The thermometer is expected to hit 18 degrees.
Senior Climatologist with Environment Canada David Phillips says the early part of November will be a continuation of the weather in October.
“I think what’s so remarkable about the warmth that we’ve seen in recent days, is the duration of this, ” marvels Phillips.
“You go back to the 19th of October…from that day on we’ve had double digit high temperatures. Not just a one day wonder or two day a two day wonder, but a two week situation.”
Phillips confirms the weather is very unusual for this time of year.
“We see temperatures that are going to be 10 to 12 degrees warmer than normal. And even when it cools off towards the weekend, we see temperatures are not going to plunge where we’re going to see Arctic air and Polar Vortex kind of weather. They are still single digit highs.”
We could hit a record if the temperature goes above 16.1 Celsius.
That record was set back in 1978.
The average high for this time of year is just 3.3 degrees.
