Judy Swanson
November 30, 1939 – October 26, 2022
On Wednesday October 26th, Judith Dianne Swanson passed away peacefully at age 82 in Dryden Hospital surrounded by family. Judy was born in Beausejour, Manitoba to Muriel and John Cheop on November 30, 1939. Judy was an avid reader of cookbooks and loved gardening. She belonged to the Red Hats Society and was a loyal parishioner of the Anglican Church. She had many careers and lived a life of risk and adventure. She is best known for her quick-witted sense of humor, fierce determination, and generous spirit.
She is survived by her beloved husband John Swanson of 64 years; children Gregory, Leonard (Shelley), and Marilyn (Wayne); grandchildren Marcie (Freeman), Brittany (Brien), Brendin, Kyle (Karen), Kristen (Desmond), Jordan, Lindsey (Ryan), Robert (Emma), and Julia (Jon); and great-grandchildren Amelia, Lila, Eva, Nora, Nate, Mason, Bodin, Benjamin, Cameron, Skylar, Brady, and Rhodes. As well as many other relatives. Predeceased by her sister, Miki and daughter in law, Susan.
She loved watching her grandchildren and great-grandchildren grow up and cheered them on in their many activities. She was always the life of the party, singing and dancing the night away. She is best known as the family chef and enjoyed camping and days by the lake with family and friends.
A Celebration of Life will be held at St Luke’s Anglican Church on Wednesday November 2, 2022 at 10 a.m. with Reverend Naboth Manzongo officiating.
Interment to follow in the Dryden Cemetery.
