A chance to help out a child in need of medical care and enjoy a tasty treat at the same time.
The Dryden Shriners launch their Christmas Cake and Shortbread sale campaign Saturday from 10:00 am until 3:00 pm outside the Masonic Hall.
Andrew Skene was a guest on the CKDR Morning Show today (Friday) to explain where the money goes.
“When we have a Shrine child that requires to go to either one of the hospitals in the States or the Canadian hospital in Montreal, we pay for the travel costs and the accommodation and food. That’s at no cost to the patients family.”
Skene notes the annual fundraiser has been successful in the past.
“Thank the Dryden community and the areas surrounding us for their continued support and we’ve enjoyed doing this fundraiser. Also we will take donations and those donations will be turned into cakes for the Food Bank.”
