The official municipal election voter turnout results have been released by the Association of Municipalities Ontario.
Ignace was number one in the region with 69.11 per cent turnout, followed by Red Lake at 61.63 per cent and Atikokan at 56.19 per cent.
Strong turnout in Kenora and Pickle Lake with 53.45 and 52.29 per cent of the population respectively casting a ballot.
Fort Frances saw 49.63 per cent voter turnout, while Dryden recorded 43.23 per cent with 2,344 eligible voters taking part.
Ear Falls wasn’t far behind at 42.63 per cent.
Sioux Lookout and Machin were on the low end of the scale at 33.09 and 32.85 per cent respectively.
