Some disruptions in the Municipal Election in Dryden.
It has come to the attention of the Clerk that there are some irregularities in the ballots for the Trustee for the English Public School Board.
Some voters received credentials from both the City and the Keewatin-Patricia District School Board, allowing them to cast multiple votes for the trustee position.
City officials say in order to ensure full transparency and uphold the integrity of the voting process, the Clerk has declared an emergency which will void any immediate results for the English Public School Board election today (Monday).
Arrangements are being made to rectify the situation and allow for a fair election.
Dryden voters are advised that votes cast for all other races are valid and will be counted towards the results of the election on Monday, October 24th, 2022.
Votes cast for Trustee for the English Public School Board are the only ones affected by the irregularity and will not be counted today.
Voters that support the English Public School Board will be entitled to vote for Trustee at a later date.

The School Board is aware of the irregularity in the ballots and both certified candidates for the position of Trustee have been notified.
The City Clerk’s office is working closely with the School Board regarding the next steps in holding the election of Trustee for the English Public School Board.
