The Dryden Eagles High School Football team can clinch a home playoff game with a win on the road today (Friday).
The Blue and Gold travel to Winnipeg to face the top ranked Kildonan East Reivers.
Defensive Back Coach Braydon Hansson admits it will be a different experience after playing five straight games at home.
Hansson says if they go through their warm-up and are crisp, he doesn’t anticipate any issues.
The Reivers rallied in the second half last week to defeat the Muskies to remain undefeated.
Hansson says, “They have some really fast running backs. They have a lot of speed coming out of the backfield. Fort Frances played it well by trying to shutdown the run and then in the second half the team obviously wore Fort Frances down and broke off some big runs. So we need to contain their running backs for the full 60 minutes of the game.”
He also talked about expectations.
“Play the full 60 minutes like we have every game this year, or that we’ve tried to do every game this year. Right now we just want to stay healthy. We have locked up a playoff spot so the expectation is to ensure everyone is getting some last reps in before the playoffs and everyone is ready to go but also stay healthy at the same time.”
Kick-off is 3:30 pm.
