More details have been released on the new Kiiwetinoong Healing Waters Ontario Health Team that will represent Dryden, Sioux Lookout and Red Lake.
The goal of the agency is to provide a collaborative response to locally led, equitable and culturally safe care.
A number of organizations have signed onto the new health team.
They include: : Sioux Lookout Meno Ya Win Health Centre, the Municipality of Sioux Lookout, Red Lake Margaret Cochenour Memorial Hospital, Red Lake Family Health Team, Red Lake Community Counselling and Addictions, Red Lake Friendship Centre, Ear Falls Community Health Centre, Mary Berglund Community Health Centre, Dryden Regional Health Centre, Dingwall Medical Group, Home and Community Care
Support Services North West, Kenora District Homes, Kenora District Services Board, and Firefly.
Another sixteen agencies have agreed to help shape the health team.
Four initial priorities have been identified including streamlined service delivery, digital integration, human resources, and mental health.
Officials say the health team is an opportunity to strengthen existing relationships between health partners in the region, and to complement the work of the existing community health hubs in Dryden, Sioux Lookout and Red Lake.
