The Northwestern Health Unit is urging residents to keep up with their COVID vaccines.
The latest boost that offers improved protection against the Omicron variants is now available to anyone 12 and older.
Medical Officer of Health Dr. Kit Young Hoon says the shot is still the best protection we have against the virus.
Although the bivalent booster dose is only available for those aged 12 or older, children aged 5-11 can receive a booster dose of the original vaccine.
Dr. Young Hoon notes, “There is increased COVID-19 activity in other regions of the province, and everyone can reduce the impact of another wave here by getting vaccinated.”
The Health Unit is offering both the flu and COVID shots at select clinics across the district.
You can also get the vaccine at select pharmacies and your health care provider.
