The Dryden Eagles High School Football team is heating up at the right time.
The Blue and Gold recorded their second consecutive shutout victory in a 41-0 thrashing of Miles McIntyre Friday afternoon.
The Eagles defense set the tone early with two straight turnovers and finished the game with 3 interceptions and 2 fumble recoveries.
Carter McKinstry was the story of the game with two pick sixes, both for majors from over 50 yards out.
McKinstry also recorded the third interception of the game.
The Eagles punishing defence limited the Maroons offence to only a couple of first downs.
On the offensive side of the ball, everything was clicking for Dryden.
Shalom Powell and Raynor Powell led the running attack with some electric runs.
Shalom got things going with a 68 yard run for a touchdown to make it 13-0.
He followed that up with a 26 yard major for a score.
Raynor, leading off the second half, ran for a 41 yard touchdown.
Dean Iwanyk then found Raynor for a 20 yard catch and run for another score.
Dean and Nick Iwaynk were keys to the game making some big plays, while Jett Livingston made a huge impact on special teams.
Dryden now improves to 5-1 and has secured a spot in the playoffs.
The Eagles travel to Winnipeg next Friday in a heavyweight clash with Kildonan East Reivers in the final game of the regular season.
