The Dryden Eagles High School Football team ends its five game homestand today (Friday) with a key game.
The ‘Blue and Gold’ (4-1) host Daniel McIntyre Collegiate (2-3), with a chance to clinch a playoff spot.
Defensive Back Coach Braydon Hansson says the Eagles want to secure their place in the top of the standings but stresses they aren’t looking ahead.
“Our mentality is just to get better every single week, continue to grow, and when the playoffs hit, just be ready to play the best round of football that we can play.”
The Eagles continue to be one of the most physical teams in the league and Hansson says they want to continue that style of play while remaining disciplined.
“Always been Coach Zilklans’ brand of play is to be the more physical team and I think that’s just classic Eagles brand football. Continue to wear down the other team. Play the four quarters, not just two quarters.”
Hansson adds, “Discipline is a big part. Knowing your job, Doing your responsibility and making sure that you’re doing it to the best of your ability every single play and that’s what we preach every single day at practice.”
Kick-off is 3:00 pm at Harry McMaster Field.
