Kayla Wabonge “Zhaawanabiik“
August 10, 1989 – October 11, 2022
It is with great sadness the family announces the passing of Kayla Sandra Jeanine Wabonge, Age 33 of Migisi Sahgaigan, Ontario, on the 11th of October 2022 at the Thunder Bay Regional Health Sciences Centre with family and loved ones by her side. Kayla was born on August 10, 1989, in Dryden, Ontario to parents Margaret Wabonge and the late Warren Parenteau.
Kayla was a unique and caring individual who has touched the lives of all who knew her. Kayla enjoyed sewing, dancing, spending time with her family and travelling. Her family was everything. She was blessed to have so many special people in her life and we are blessed to have her in ours. We will miss her deeply and cherish all the memories.
Kayla is survived by her spouse Kari Comegan, children Breaden, Kianna (Corey), Chayson, Kaci, and Kayli, mother Margaret Wabonge, mother in law Brenda Comegan, sisters Gina Wabonge and Alana Gardner, brother Matthew Parenteau, nieces Isla and Margot as well as numerous aunties, uncles, cousins, and friends.
Kayla was predeceased by her brother Eli Napish, father Warren Parenteau, grandparents Fred and Minnie Parenteau and Sandy and May Wabonge.
Visitation will be held at the Eagle Lake First Nation Community Hall on Thursday, October 13, 2022 starting at 3 p.m.
A Traditional Service will follow on Saturday, October 15, 2022 at 11 a.m. with Tommy Councillor officiating.
Interment is to follow at the Migisi Sahgaigan Cemetery.
