Students at Lillian Berg School in Vermilion Bay will once again be walking for Residential School survivors.
The Walk for Wenjack is Friday.
While the full journey to the former McIntosh Residential School site is 30 kilometres, students are encouraged to go as far as they can and the entire school participants.
Grade 5/6 students Chloe Kostecki, Alex Tuckey and Cynthia Therrien spoke with CKDR News about the importance of the event.

The event is a fundraiser for residential school survivors and to support Lillian Berg’s ongoing efforts for the McIntosh Residential School Site Maintenance Fund.
Chanie Wenjack was a 12-year-old Anishinaabe boy who died October 22, 1966 after escaping residential school and attempting to return home to his family 600 kilometres away.
