It was a tough Homecoming on the gridiron for the Dryden Eagles.
Little went right for the ‘Blue and Gold’ Friday afternoon as they fell to the Beaver Brae Broncos 19-0 in a spirited game at Harry McMaster Field.
The story of the game was a suffocating Kenora defence as the usually potent Dryden running game was stuck in neutral for much of the contest.
On the other side of the ball, despite giving up three majors, the Eagles defence came up with several big stops including two interceptions on explosive and talented Quarterback Mariucz Pelly.
Dryden still receives a $500 equipment grant from the Winnipeg High School Football League as the match-up was the Game of the Week.
Both teams are now 2-2.
The Eagles are back on home turf Thursday, September 29 against the St. Johns Tigers at 4:00 pm.
