This is National Forest Week and Domtar in Dryden is trying to get more youth involved in the industry.
The company partnered with Earth Rangers Tuesday and Wednesday to host two community information sessions with about 500 youth at the Centre.
The goal was sharing the message of conservation and sustainability with interactive presentations complete with live animals, games, trivia, and a video contest.
Domtar Dryden General Manager Marie Cyr says inspiring the next generation of environmental leaders is key to ensuring sustainable practices for the future.
Cyr says they have been successfully operating in Dryden and surrounding area for over 100 years and the accomplishment is a direct result of responsible forest management practices.
She adds encouraging youth to follow that legacy is important to Domtar.
