The Dryden GM Ice Dogs have introduced a new captain for the 2022-2023 season.
Brady Frattinger, from Elkhorn Manitoba, will wear the ‘C’ this year.
“It’s an honour for sure. It’s a privilege to wear this jersey everyday let alone the ‘C’ on my jersey. I’m going to do the best I can to be a leader for these boys this year and hope to bring a championship back here to Dryden.”
Frattinger adds, “Played a year here. Now I kind of know what this league’s about and I just want to make sure that we are doing everything right. I think if they can follow my lead in the room and our other guys with letters…we will be just fine.”
Dryden’s Ben Hackl, Max Rath and Jackson Jacques have been named assistants.
Frattinger recorded 43 points in 47 games last season and had 10 points in 8 playoff contests.
The 20 year old says, “You will see a fast, physical forward. I can play in the dirty areas and move the puck pretty well and put the puck in the back of the net as well.”
The Ice Dogs open the new SIJHL season Friday night at home against Kam River. (7:30 pm start time)
