The Dryden Eagles High School Football team begins a stretch of five games in a row at home this afternoon. (Friday)
The Eagles host the Churchill Bulldogs at 4:00 pm.
Dryden is coming off a 7-0 opening season win in Fort Frances.
Defensive Back Coach Braydon Hansson says, “After Week 1, getting their legs underneath them, I think the offence is going to make a big jump this week and they will be putting up points where we need them.”
Hansson says it’s exciting to have a long home stretch, noting this is the first game back at Harry McMaster Field in the Winnipeg League after a 2 year COVID forced hiatus.
Dryden played in a Northwestern Ontario only league last season.
When it comes to Churchill, Hansson says, “They like to run the ball it seems. They run an offence kind of similar to us with three options in the back. So I’m looking to see the ball being ran quite a bit and our defence is up to the challenge to stop them.”
