A candidate in the October Municipal election in Dryden has withdrawn from the campaign.
Anne Berrey has notified the Returning Officer that she is no longer running for office of Councillor.
Berrey was the former Mayor of Dryden.
Her nomination can’t legally be withdrawn from the election and her name can’t be removed from the ballot.
The City will be issuing reminders throughout the campaign that Berrey is no longer in the running.
No reason has been provided.
The race for six Council seats is now down to eight.
Those in the running include:
-David Burch
-Catherine Kiewning
-Bill Latham
-Martin MacKinnon
-Ritch Noel
-Brad Pareis
-Michelle Price
-Bryan Tardiff
Two are vying for the Mayor’s position; Shayne MacKinnon and Jack Harrison.
