The Municipal elections are still over a month away but one person is already looking forward.
Kevin Kahoot will serve another four year term as Mayor of Ear Falls as he has been acclaimed.
Kahoot says he has two schools of thought on the vote of confidence.
“First of all you think the residents have given you a vote of confidence and you are pretty happy for and pretty proud of. On the other side you think well maybe it’s a job now a days that nobody wants. So you got to take one side or the other on this.”
He adds, “I’m looking forward to it. It’s been a quick four years with the pandemic and everything going on. So things were stalled out a little bit in the last four years and I think that’s why you are seeing a lot of burnout in some of the politicians when you are looking around, especially in northwestern Ontario.”
Priorities moving forward for Kahoot include waterfront development, a parks plan and housing.
Kahoot adds there is a great group of candidates running for Council and he looks forward to working with those who get elected.
There are eight in the running for four seats.
They include:
-David Carroll
-Sarah Desforges
-Dave Hoey
-Fishy Legros
-Brad Mountain
-Dan Sutton
-Kim Thain
-Doug Woolsey
