The Dryden Eagles High School Football team defence was on display Friday as the ‘Blue and Gold’ opened a new season.
The Eagles held the Muskies offence in check en route to a 7-0 win in Fort Frances.
Fort Frances would drive deep into Dryden territory a few times late but couldn’t score.
Carter McKinstry led the way with 8 tackles from the secondary, while Cale Wright and Dakota Martin each recorded a sack.
Shalom Powell scored the Eagles lone touchdown with a 63 yard run in the third quarter.
He then kicked the extra point.
Powell finished with 7 rushes for 160 yards, while Carter Gustafson chipped in with 114 tough yards on 21 carries.
Brennan Piche also picked up some critical rushes late.
