A Dryden entrepreneur has been awarded the RBC Rock My Business Emerging Indigenous Entrepreneur Award.
Benjamin Feagin kick-started AgriTech North and will receive $10,000 to support business operations.
Only 8 entrepreneurs across Canada were recognized.
AgriTech North opened its doors back in April at 250 Duke Street to meet food security needs locally and across the north.
The mission is reduce fresh produce costs in northern Indigenous communities by 25%, while increasing availability in communities without year-round access.
Feagin says, “The value of the RBC award goes well beyond the $10,000. By matching it with other funding sources, it establishes the opportunity to implement a new software platform that integrates our front-end storefront sales with back-end operations. We will also be able to release a wholesale e-commerce marketplace, making it easier for our clients to book their orders for fulfillment.”
He is expecting substantial growth and states this money will help secure the future of the company.
