Josephine Bunting
January 9, 1964 – August 25, 2022
Jesus welcomed Josephine Bunting to heavens gate on august 25, 2022 with family by her side in Thunder Bay.
Josephine started her life in Central Patricia on January 9, 1964. She spent a lot of her young life growing up in Balmertown, ON with her father John Wassaykeesic, uncle Jimmy Wassaykeesic and aunt and uncle Sophie and Simon Wassaykeesic. She spent a lot of time with her best cousin Brenda beardy growing up and the two had a special bond. At the age of 16 she met the love of her life Gerald bunting through her cousin Gordie Wassaykeesic. She spent 41 years loving him and will continue to do so from heaven. During their time together they raised three children living on Red Lake Rd. Josephine was a hard worker in every job she had from cleaning rooms to flagging to working at IGA and lastly working in produce at Walmart. She made many friends and greeted many customers always with her best smile.
She joins in heaven her son Troy Bunting, parents John Wassaykeesix and Maryann Necan, aunt and uncle Sophie and Simon wassaykeesic, uncle Jimmy Wassaykeesic. Cousin Gordie Wassaykeesix , cousin in law David Beardy and nephews Bradley Perrault, Ricky Machimity, Adrian Bunting and mother-in-law Rose Bunting
She leaves behind her husband Gerald, children Allison (Harbey) Gordon, Kim (Justin), her brother Fred Wasssaykeesic (Linda), niece Shirley Perrault (Rick), Quentin Perrault, cousin Brenda Beardy and her children Denny and Jenny and her dog Rusty. Josephine was very proud to be a Kokum and was sad to be leaving her granddaughters Emily Maryann and Daniella Josephine.
Josephine spent her last few months in pain but always mustered up the courage to put a brave face on and she never forgot to smile. She found comfort in Jesus and knowing she was going to heaven.
Visitations will take place on Wednesday, August 31, 2022 between 4-8 p.m. at the Dryden Community Funeral Home, ON.
The Traditional Service is to be held on Thursday, September 1, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. with Wayne Towes officiating at the Evangelical Church in Vermilion Bay.
Burial is to take place at the Vermilion Bay, ON cemetery. A luncheon is to follow at 12:00 p.m. at the Vermilion Bay Lions Hall.
