Phyllis Leona Gosnell

Heaven has a new angel.
Phyllis Leona Gosnell, 84, of Dryden, Ontario slipped away peacefully with her family by her side in the early morning of August 20, 2022. Phyllis was born November 22, 1937 to her parents Phillip John Roblin and Mella Andrienne Roblin.
Phyllis was born in Rainy River, ON where she spent her childhood on the Robin Family Farm. She later met and was swept off her feet by the fancy Dressed Man with the funny hat Roy Gosnell . They married in August of 1956. Roy and Phyllis then moved to Kenora, ON to start their family. As their family grow over the years and job opportunities came up for Roy, they moved and called the towns of Fort Frances and Hudson home.
In Hudson, ON, Phyllis raised her children while Roy worked as a security guard in the Hudson Mill. After the sudden passing of Roy, Phyllis moved to Fort Frances, ON to be closer to her sisters and other family members. There she worked at the A&W Restaurant from 1991 to 2001. Phyllis then retired and moved to Dryden to be closer to her loving family. Phyllis’s fondest and proudest memories are with her loving children and grandchildren as she could never get enough and would show it with her great big hugs and wet kisses. Those who knew Phyllis knew she could always tell a great story about the fun adventures with her wild siblings. She will always be remembered for her great family dinners and delicious apple pies.
She was survived by her children Darrell C Gosnell (Joselite) of Sioux lookout, ON, Phillip R.A. Gosnell (Debbie) of Dryden, ON, Valerie A Anderson (Scott) of Almonte ON, Shane T Gosnell (Dorothy) of Winnipeg, MN, Ralph G Gosnell of Hudson, ON, and Gladys J White (Shayne) of Midland, ON. Phyllis is also forever loved by her grandchildren Dory Peterson (Curtis), Phillip Jr. Gosnell (Burton), Janelle Matheson (Brandan), Lynzi Anderson, Devon White, Allison White, Richard Gosnell, and Jorden Gosnell. Great grandchildren; Joshua Petit, Kyle Peterson, Kaylin Gosnell, Samara Peterson, Leona Peterson and Evi Matheson.
She was predeceased by her loving husband of 30 years, Roy Gosnell, daughter, Mella Patricia Gosnell. Brothers; Leslie Roblin, Gordon Roblin, and Lawrence Roblin. Sisters; Irene Wilson, Evelyn Moore, Gladys Jonassen, and Nora O’Neil. Nephew; Ray Wilson. Granddaughter; Mella Gosnell. Parents; Phillip John Roblin and Mella Andrienne Roblin.
A Graveside Service will be held on Friday, August 26th, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. at the Rainy River Cemetery in Rainy River, ON.
