Premier Doug Ford is repeating his call on the federal government to get involved and help solve current pressures in the healthcare system.
Ford met Monday with his counterparts from Nova Scotia, New Brunswick and Prince Edward Island to discuss the issue.
Ford says the provinces are working together but they can’t do it alone.
The Premier says they also want hospital executives, doctors and nurses at the table to come up with “real” solutions.
Ford says we are all dealing with the same challenges, including surgery backlogs, and long waits in emergency departments.
He stresses they need to start sharing best practices and better ways of doing things.
Ford notes maintaining the status quo just isn’t working.
