The Dryden Community Splash Park is now open to the public.
A grand opening ceremony was held Friday at the Rotary Park site in north Dryden.
The Beyak Automotive Group donated $230,000 to build the park and Marketing and Public Relations Manager Holly Kaemingh says they are thrilled with the new addition.
“We’re so happy to be able to give back to the community in this way and provide an area for young families, children, really all ages, to enjoy. We just really are excited to see the happiness that this park will bring moving forward.”
The project quickly came to life over the past five months.
Kaemingh says, “Our facilities manager, Tyson Dennis, has worked hand-in-hand with the City of Dryden and we can’t thank them enough for all of their work and Tyson for all of his work. It really just shows that teamwork and great people working together can accomplish something so quick.”
Beyak Automotive Group President Nick Beyak says, “The entire organization is responsible for making this major community improvement a reality. I am also grateful to our thousands of customers. Without their strong support over the years, the splash park would not be possible. Lastly, I would like to thank the Staff and Council of the City of Dryden who have contributed greatly to the project’s completion. This park will bring happiness and joy to children and families for many years.”
The 2,800 square foot park will be run and maintained by the City of Dryden.
It will be open daily from 11:00 am to 9:00 pm from Victoria Day long weekend through to September 15.
Mayor Greg Wilson says, “These investments and partnerships are very important, and we are most grateful to the Beyak Automotive Group for their substantial donation that not only invests in the City of Dryden, but the health, wellbeing and the enjoyment of our residents and visitors.”
Manager of Community Services Steve Belanger says, “Ensuring that recreation facilities of this nature are available, attractive, and accessible for all ages and abilities is of great importance to ensure that Dryden remains a great place to live, work and play.”
