There is one positive to take from this week’s COVID update for the region.
The test positivity rate has gone down.
It now sits at 15.6%, compared to 17.2% last week.
At the same time, the number of active high risk cases has gone up.
There are 145.
There were 103 last week.
Local health officials note the numbers are lower than the ‘real’ number due to the fact many people are not eligible for PCR testing and instead test positive on Rapid Antigen tests at home and are not counted in the total.
There are also seven institutional outbreaks in the region, including three in hospitals and two in long term care facilities.
