Kenora-Rainy River MPP Greg Rickford is pouring cold water on suggestions of health care privatization in the province as a way to address gaps in access to service due to staff shortages.
Health Minister Sylvia Jones was quoted as saying last week that all options are on the table but later backtracked to say innovative solutions are needed.
Rickford says, “We have one of the strongest public health care systems in the world. The second largest managed public health system in the world, second only to Britain, and people can count on us that your OHIP card will always be your point of access for publicly funded public health services. That will not go away.”
