About 100 people from the Grassy Narrows First Nation have been evacuated to Thunder Bay.
It’s due to rising flood waters in the community.
The people considered most vulnerable have left including the elderly and anyone with health issues.
The evacuation could last two weeks, or longer, depending on the high water situation.
A spokesperson for the community says most of the homes are on high ground and haven’t been flooded but the move is being made as a precaution.
Meanwhile, the situation in the Kashechewan First Nation has since improved and some residents of that community were able to return to their homes over the weekend.
They were also evacuated to Thunder Bay.
