Manitoba Parks has expanded its evacuation order for the Whiteshell.
The northern part of the park is also being included because of flooding and rapidly rising water levels.
Travel into the Whiteshell is not recommended because of dangerous conditions.
A Flood Warning has been issued for the Winnipeg River and Whiteshell Lakes.
At the same time, there is water over Highway #1 from Falcon Lake to the Ontario/Manitoba boundary, so there may be some delays.
One lane is closed and the west shoulder of the Trans-Canada is blocked.
Here is an update on regional road closures and disruptions for Tuesday, March 24:
-Vermilion Bay area. Between Highway 647 and Highway 609 Quibell Road- All lanes closed in both directions due to road conditions. No transports allowed. Passenger vehicles only. Signage in place. Use extreme caution.
-Flooding Blue Lake Loop Road to Quibell Road. Restricted to local traffic.
-Highway 105 Vermilion Bay. From Highway 17 to Highway 609. The highway is fully closed due to water over the road.
-Highway 17, Vermilion Bay, Near Rhyner’s Road. There is water over the road. Traffic control is in place with a pilot vehicle. A detour is available for smaller vehicles.
-Flooding on Highway 605. Both Directions between Highway 17 and Rugby Lake (end of highway). All lanes closed.
-Highway 71, at Maybrun Road. There is water over the road, one lane blocked, traffic control is in place. Please use caution in the area.
