A successful Claude Stansfield Match Play Bowling Tournament at Timber Lanes in Dryden over the weekend.
The event returned from a three year COVID forced break with multiple first time participants and a near perfect game by Matthew Rodych.
In the Singles Final, Thunder Bay’s Wes Swoluk defeated Andrew Lamonica of Winnipeg to take home the title.
The Match Play started Saturday morning and there was two qualifying shifts of 8 games where the top 32 moved into a double elimination bracket.
Semi-Finals had:
Andrew Lamonica (Winnipeg) vs Matt Rodych (Winnipeg)
Tim Gadd (Dryden) vs Wes Swoluk (Thunder Bay)
The eight game scotch doubles tournament was won by Dryden’s Calvin Murray and Mike McGinn.

2. Aaron Frade (Thunder Bay) and Al Pedron (Thunder Bay)
Tied for third:
3. Brad Lavers (Dryden) and Travis Manek (Winnipeg)

Organizers say over $12,000 exchanged hands this year.
