The Township of Ignace has declared a State of Emergency.
This is because of flooding concerns in and around the community.
Water levels at the culvert located at Beaver Street and West Street are high and there is a risk of Agimak Creek overflowing and potentially washing out West Street and damaging homes.
Public Works will be set up at the road block and pumping water from the west side of West Street to the east side.
West Street will continue to be closed to traffic, but open to residents living in that area.
The emergency declaration allows the Township to access provincial assistance.
