The Ministry of Northern Development, Mines, Natural Resources and Forestry is advising caution when travelling on resource access roads and bush roads throughout the Northwest Region.
Recent rainfall combined with melting snow has resulted in many roads covered in water and several washouts that have made sections of roads impassable.
Motorists should be aware that road conditions can deteriorate quickly and access to some networks could be cut off suddenly.
In response to the situation, the ministry is providing empty sandbags to those affected by high water levels that reside within unorganized territories.
They are available at our sandbag depot at the Dryden Agricultural Centre located at 99 Scott Street.
You may be asked to provide identification, to ensure that the sandbags are being distributed appropriately.
For more information and to find out where sand may be acquired, contact your local ministry district office.
