The Ministry of Northern Development, Mines, Natural Resources and Forestry has upgraded a Flood Outlook for the Dryden District to a Flood Warning.
The initial designation was made May 4 and was to expire Friday.
The Flood Warning will be in effect until May 20.
Officials stress residents in the Wabigoon, Eagle and Forest Lake watersheds, and surrounding areas throughout the district should exercise extreme caution around less travelled roads, bridges, water-crossings, lakes, rivers, and areas of high runoff potential, as water levels in portions of the district are extremely high.
Water levels may continue to rise throughout the coming days due to melting snow and significant precipitation received and forecasted.
Levels across the district are at or exceeding maximum outflows and the Ministry says it’s closely monitoring the situation.
