Another jolt to motorists when pulling up to the pump yesterday as gas prices went up about five cents.
And, an industry expert says they could go up another five cents next week as well.
Dan McTeague, president of Canadians for Affordable Energy, says that’s because Canadians will be gearing up to travel for the May long weekend and the start of summer but also if the situation worsens in Ukraine.
At last report, the price at the pump in Dryden was 195.9, with some stations still at 189.9.
Red Lake went up the full five cents to 214.9, while Sioux Lookout is at 207.9.
The Ontario average is 195.3.
Meantime, record high gas prices have many of us putting the breaks on hitting the highway this summer.
A new survey by the Tire and Rubber Association of Canada found about 66 per cent of drivers plan to put off or limit road trips.
That number jumps to 75 per cent for younger drivers between 18 and 24 years old.
