A Dryden man is giving provincial politics a shot.
Richard Jonasson has officially filed for the upcoming election, representing Consensus Ontario in Kenora-Rainy River.
Jonasson ran unsuccessfully for City Council in the 2018 Municipal election.
Consensus Ontario was founded in 2016 and had 10 test candidates in the 2018 provincial election, placing 9 out of 28 political parties on their first try.
Its website says it was formed to remove all parties from politics in the province and replace it with independent, elected representatives who answer to their constituents.
A statement reads that If elected, universal and periodic elections will take place without reference to political parties.
The Leader of Consensus Ontario is Brad Harness of London.
