Two major road closures to be aware of.
Highway 105 remains closed between Ear Falls and Red Lake due to a massive washout at the Chukuni River Bridge as well as water over the road in multiple locations.
That means the town of Red Lake has been effectively cut off from the rest of the region.
NDP candidate for the Kiiwetinoong Riding, Sol Mamakwa says the highway has to be repaired as soon as possible and that there is no time to waste because the community relies on the road for the supply of goods and essential services.
Meantime, the Ministry of Transportation reports all of Highway 605 at Oxdrift and north is closed due to water over the road in multiple spots.
That effectively isolates those living in the Eaton-Rugby area.
Detours are not available to drivers in both cases.
Flooding has forced the closure of Highway 601 at McArthur Road.
A washout on Highway 665 just south of Richan, approximately 1 km north of Eyolfson Road at McLean Lake Road, has also forced the closure of both lanes.
A bush road just northwest of Vermilion Bay is the latest to join the list.
Gordon Lake Road, west of McIntosh Road is closed due to increased flow of water through the Forest Lake Dam.
There are other multiple reports of washouts and flooding across the district and caution is urged on the roads that remain open.
