A suspicious death of a community member in Deer Lake First Nation is under investigation.
The probe is being conducted by Provincial Police and Nishnawbe Aski Nation Police.
Officers responded to a person in distress around 11:15 Sunday night and the individual was transported to the local nursing station, where she later died, despite life-saving efforts.
She has been identified as 30-year-old Vanessa Kakekagumick.
The cause of death is not known at this time and investigators believe there is no threat to public safety.
