William “Bill” Rushak
June 30, 1930 – April 24, 2022
In loving memory of Bill Rushak who passed away on April 24, 2022 with family by his side.
Bill was born in Winnipeg, MB on June 20, 1930 to parents Michael and Mary Rushak.
In 1950, he moved to Fort Frances for work and met the love of his life Mavis Wilson. They married November 8, 1952. Shortly after, they began their family and had four children: Michael, Deana, Susan and Bradley. In the later years, the whole family moved to Dryden where Bill operated Timberlanes Bowling alley for many years. Bowling was one of Bill’s many passions. He loved the game and coaching his daughter Deana. Bill then went on to work for Ontario Lottery Corporation as well as doing the books at the Central Hotel for what became his good friend Bob Ewonchuk.
He enjoyed his annual trips with Susan to South Beach Casino or Club Regent. He always made sure Susan took him to pick up his ProLine tickets. He also enjoyed his bus trips with Mavis to Branson, Missouri to enjoy the music and atmosphere. Trips also included baseball games in Minneapolis.
Bill is survived by his wife of 69 years, Mavis, daughter Deana (David) Marion and children: son Darryl and daughter Tanis (Joel) and family: Addison and Rya, daughter Susan Rushak and daughter: Megan (Jesse), Harley Rushak and family, sisters-in-law: Peggy Warren, Karon Wilson, Veenie Parmeter, Yvonne Rushak and Pauline Wilson, brother Jim Rushak as well as great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Bill was predeceased by sons Michael and Bradley, brothers-in-law: Gerald Pearson, Arden Wilson, Doug Wilson and daughter Desiree, Howard Wilson and son Jason, Ken Warren, Wally Parmeter, sister-in-law Anne Pearson and brother Ernie Rushak.
Bill is at peace now that he is reunited with his boys.
As per Bill’s wishes a private family Celebration of Life will take place at a later date.
