The MPP for Kenora-Rainy River is defending a flurry of funding announcements.
Greg Rickford toured the region last week handing out money to multiple organizations and communities.
He talked about the timing of the announcements.
“You know a lot of them are, especially the larger scale ones. COVID has setback a lot of construction and building and by late winter/early spring the levy was going to break. So I’ve been very busy doing a lot of announcements that quite frankly I would have been doing over the last year and a half. We’ve still been very busy.”
Rickford adds, “At the end of the day, by June 2, folks will have a clear decision to make and I hope they keep me in mind because our priorities have been focused on building our communities and improving the quality of life. Whether it’s recreation infrastructure, homes for Seniors, shelters for homeless people, or creating new childcare spaces and new opportunities for business. That’s what we’ve delivered.”
The provincial election is just over a month away.
