It promises to be a fun Saturday at St. John’s School in Red Lake.
An Early Years Art Festival is being held from 10:30 a.m. until 12:30 a.m.
Marnie Buffett is Early Years Coordinator with the Kenora Catholic District School Board and she says this years event will be bigger and better.
She stresses there will be dancing, entertainment, music and multiple activities.
Buffett says kids will have plenty of opportunities to draw, paint, drum, dance and invent.
She notes, “One of the stations we hand children spray bottles full of paint. There’s another station called ‘Animal Tracks’ where they get to strap different stamps to their feet and walk around and paint. So really creative stations and lot’s of fun to be had.
Buffett adds, “There’s going to be a local photographer there. So all families who come through the door will get a voucher for a complimentary family portrait. We just love that families can walk away with a keepsake of the event and after being in a pandemic for two years, probably most families are overdue for a family photo.”
The event is free and open to the entire community.
