Meantime, communities in the Far North are under Winter Storm Warnings, alerts of Freezing Rain Warnings.
The heavy rain is expected to turn to snow Saturday night.
The Snow may mix with ice pellets at times and there is a possibility of freezing rain.
Winds are expected to reach 70 km/h.
By Monday morning, most communities will see 15 to 30 centimetres of snow.
Officials warn visibility may be zero and travel is not recommended.
Among those expected to be impacted include Big Trout Lake, Kasabonika, Sachigo Lake, Bearskin Lake, Webequie, Attawapiskat, Summer Beaver, Wunnummin Lake, Pikangikum, Poplar Hill and Kingfisher Lake.
