A great start to the SIJHL Semi-Final for the Dryden GM Ice Dogs.
The offence came to life as the Ice Dogs downed the Miners 7-4 last night in Cochenour.
Cameron Ware, Ondrej Bardos and Nakoda Thunderchief led the way with all three scoring two goals.
Brady Frattinger added a single.
Cole Johnston was solid in net making 31 saves.
For Red Lake, Ryan Howe potted a pair of goals, while Jordan Baranesky and Alim Darmenov also found the back of the net.
Kiev Kineshanko suffered the loss but did stop 31 shots.
In the other opening game, Kam River cruised to a 9-0 victory over visiting Thunder Bay.
The Fighting Walleye fired 63 shots on the North Stars net.
Austin Madge made 37 saves for the shutout.
