Here’s your chance to get checked for breast, colon or cervical cancer.
The Screen for Life Coach is in Dryden and the mobile clinic will be here until April 19.
Coordinator Vanessa Masters says, “It’s important to reach out and visit local communities throughout Northwestern Ontario to make healthcare more accessible for everyone. Many people don’t like to travel for appointments for various reasons and it is challenging to do so. So we want to make it as easy and as accessible as possible.”
Masters notes, “Because we offer three cancer screening services in one location, it makes it easy for people. We like to call ourselves a ‘one stop shop.’ If you are due for all three screenings, you can on to the coach and get all three done at once.”
Anyone who is due for a check-up should call to book and appointment.
You should also visit if you received a letter in the mail that it’s time for a check-up but Masters stresses referrals aren’t required.
Masters stresses if cancer is detected early it usually means there’s a better chance of treating that cancer.
Bookings are encouraged and for more information call (807) 684-7777.
