Gold for the Dryden Eagles Senior Girls Volleyball team.
The Eagles received a scare on home court Monday but pulled out a five sets win over third seed Beaver Brae. (25-17, 24-26, 25-16, 25-27, 15-10)
Dryden trailed 6-1 in the final set before rallying.
The Broncos upset Fort Frances earlier in the day to advance.
In the Junior Final, two teams with identical 5-1 records met in the Gold medal game.
In the end the Fort Frances Muskies outlasted Dryden in five sets. (25-23, 25-27, 22-25, 25-14, 15-8)
The Eagles beat Sioux North in straight sets to make the final.
There was plenty of energy and spirit in the gym as this was the first true NorWOSSA court championship in two years.
There will be no All-Ontario Final this year.
