Gloria Barkman
December 8, 1970 – February 17, 2022
With heavy hearts we announce the passing of Gloria Barkman on Thursday, February 17, 2022.
She was the last child born to Irene and Daniel Baran whom were originally from Sachigo Lake and Sandy Lake.
She is survived by her son Jordan, her sister Linda, brothers Floyd and Peter, her grandchildren whom she loved dearly; Justice, Rebecca, Chloe and Reese and her son-in-law Renne.
She lived most of her life in Vermilion Bay. Gloria worked at a tourist camp at a young age and held various jobs. She moved back up to Sachigo Lake to help with her grandchildren. Gloria worked at the Northern Store. I’m sure she will be missed by her co-workers.
Gloria Raised her son Jordan and daughter Ocean in Dryden where she remained many years and made many friends throughout her lifetime.
Gloria was predeceased by her parents, beloved daughter Ocean Barkman, sister Wendy Sanderson, nieces Irene Barkman, Courtney Barkman and nephew Dale Barkman.
She had numerous nephews and nieces, everyone called her auntie. Her nephews are Lee, Gavin, Wesley, Danielson, Christian, Jason Sanderson, Floyd Perrault, Nicholas, Mathew, Maddison Barkman and Joey and Arron Cook. Her nieces are Nichole Barkman-Lands and Emily Barkman.
Gloria’s past times were baking, watching movies, telling stories to her grandkids and her bingo playing. She loved music and she always had headphones hanging out of her ears. No matter what she always had time for family and friends.
