The Kenora District Services Board will be looking at strengthening its early years and child care programming this year.
Chief Administrative Officer Henry Wall says they want to ensure the needs of all families are being met.
Wall outlines some of the planned changes.
“In Dryden and Red Lake in particular for 2022 we are actually looking at expanding the number of licensed child care spaces and to actually establish and create two French language child care programs,” says Wall.
He stresses, “Very exciting for our French speaking families and French speaking community in both communities. The need has just changed with the economies of our communities changing and with more and more families coming to our communities, its been a real identified need.”
The service is expected to be offered sometime this year.
